Sean + Carly Wedding

When I first met with Sean and Carly earlier in the year to discuss their wedding, one of their main concerns was what to do if it rains the day of the wedding. Well, low and behold, it did indeed rain. When I first arrived at the simply stunning location which was located on Carly’s family farm, everything was set up for the outdoor ceremony. The rain soon followed and the backup plan was to hold the ceremony in the outdoor tent they had set up. After a little bit of waiting, the rain eventually passed and it turned it a very hot and sunny day.

Amanda + Family Portraits

My latest portrait session was one of the most interesting ones of the season. It was another large family shoot with even more kids this time and even more energy! Sometimes I wish I could watch my shoots afterwards and see just how much running around I did. I’ll never complain though as the photos when you are on the go often turn into some of the best candid photos.

Katie + Kurtis Wedding

The last wedding of August for me was Katie and Kurtis. It was almost like the best was saved for last! My day started at the Vahalla with Katie and her bridal party. They had rented a hotel room and I was there to capture all the fun. It was a pretty relaxed atmosphere but as the time to leave came closer you could feel some of the nervous tension in the air. But it was a good thing. Everyone made their way down to the limo waiting outside, hopped in, and just like that they were off.

Daniel + Erica Wedding

Once again I had the pleasure shooting another wedding at a brand new location. This time around it was the Thunder Bay Marina. Daniel and Erika were the lucky couple. With the sleeping giant in the background, it was the perfect setting for a wedding. Everyone gathered around the flowers and waited for Erika too make her way down the pathway with her father. It gave me a chance to get some great candid shots of all the guests.

Amy + David Wedding

Vahalla Inn in Thunder Bay was the location for my wedding with Amy & David. I showed up around 1:30 and immediately started taking photos of David and his party. Upon arriving, all the boys were in a relaxed mood joking and having fun. I spent the next 30 minutes taking photos of them getting ready. We did a couple outdoor shots since they were on the main floor and of course there were also some Jagerbombs which further helped to calm the nerves.

Kristi + Family Portraits

It seems as though summer took forever to get here and who knows how long this hot weather is going to last. So, Krisi and her whole family took advantage and we had a wonderful photo session at Centennial Park. Even at 6:30 it was still quite hot but we managed to bear the heat, find some shade and come away with some truly fun and candid photos.

Katarina + Ken Wedding

It was yet another overcast day when I arrived at the church to begin photographing Katarina and Ken’s wedding day. It was still relatively warm though so it was actually perfect weather. My day started with the ceremony at Corpus Christie Church. This was another church I had never been. It was definitely larger then most other’s I have seen. Once I arrived and got set up I instantly started taking photos of the groomsmen and the groom hanging out waiting for the bride to arrive

Katie + Kurtis Engagement

After a couple tries I finally managed to get a break in the weather to shoot Katie & Kurtis’s engagement session. The location was the Roslyn Road brickyard. This location was very special to both Katie and Kurtis in that it was where Kurtis first proposed! It is located about 10 minutes outside the city and is quite beautiful. This was the first time I had even heard of the place so I was very anxious to see it and also use it as a backdrop to what would turn out to be a very fun session with Katie and Kurtis.

Rob + Theresa Wedding

Rob & Theresa celebrated their wedding this past June 1st and I had the pleasure of photographing them the entire day. We started at St. Peters Church in the East End. I had never been in this church before so I was in awe of how it looked on the inside. My favourite part was being able to go upstairs which allowed me to get some nice wide shots of the entire ceremony.

ONWA Family Portraits - Session 3

This past week I was hired to do my third photo session at ONWA. For those that don’t know what ONWA is, I encourage you visit the website to learn more. It is a not for profit organization that was established in 1972 to empower and support Aboriginal women and their families throughout the province of Ontario. I really do like these sessions because it gives me a chance to photograph some wonderful families who might not otherwise hire a photographer to get their portraits done.

John + Marie Wedding

My first wedding of the 2013 season was at the Vahalla Inn. John & Marie wanted photos taken of their ceremony and the guests, along with some portraits afterwards. Once I arrived I quickly got my gear ready and started taking photos of guests mingling as I usually do. The ceremony took place at 3:00 and lasted for about 30 minutes. There were about 60 people there which made for a nice intimate wedding. After all was said and done, everyone congratulated John & Marie, then it was time for some portraits.
