Amanda + Cory Wedding - The Chanterelle
My first wedding of the year was at one of my favourite venues in Thunder Bay, The Chanterelle. Amanda and Cory asked me to capture their wedding day and I had an amazing time doing so. Below, you will find some of my favourite photos from the day.
Kassandra + Joshua Wedding
I absolutely love backyard weddings, which is why I was so excited to capture Kassandra and Joshua’s wedding this past weekend. The whole wedding looked so beautiful which made my job very easy. Check out some of my favourite photos below from the wedding day!
Seija + Ross Wedding - Thunder Bay Armoury
My recent wedding with Seija and Ross was jam packed and extremely fun. I started with the bridal party at the Delta Hotel at the Marina for getting ready photos. Even though it was hot out, we spent some time in and around the marina getting some wedding party photos. They ended up being some of my favourite photos of the day.

After that, I headed on over to the Armoury to capture the guys getting ready. It was my first time shooting at a wedding at the Armoury so I was excited to check out it out. They guys were hanging out in the Officers Mess which was a very cool room, with what looked like, lots of history. I made sure to photograph a lot of the details and history throughout the room. One of my favourite photos from this portion of the day was all the guys sitting in a semi circle on the leather chairs.
From there it was just getting lots of candid photos, then the short buy sweet ceremony. One of the good things about the Armoury is that it’s right next to Waverley Park, which is where we headed with all the family, after the ceremony.
The reception was a lot of fun, with some first dances, speeches and of course the cake cutting. A big thank you to Seija and Ross for trusting me to capture their wedding day!
Pin + Jeanette Wedding - Delta Hotel
Pin and Jeanette celebrated their wedding day this past weekend and I had a lot of fun capturing it. From some family portraits at Pin’s house, to getting ready in the hotel with Jeanette and the wedding party.

It’s also always interesting to see how different cultures celebrate weddings. Throughout the day I, as always, I was able to capture lots of candid photos. We also managed to get outside for a bit for a short while to take some photos around the marina.
The reception was jam packed with activities, games, dances and of course speeches. All in all, it was a super fun wedding!
Justin + Allison Wedding - Marina
Justin and Allison asked if I could photograph their very small (just them!) wedding ceremony here in Thunder Bay and I of course said yes. The weather was perfect and they looked amazing, so it’s no wonder I was able to get so many great looking photos.
Jake + Abi Wedding - Waverely Park
Last year I had the pleasure of photography an small and intimate wedding with Jake, Abi and the rest of their immediate family at Waverley Park. The officially announced it a week ago, so now I get to share all the wonderful photos I captured.
Jennifer + Arthur Wedding - Grand Cayman
Last month I was lucky enough to be hired to photography Jennifer and Arthur’s wedding in Grand Cayman. Surprisingly, it was my first real destination wedding outside of the country. I didn’t know what to expect but I’m so glad I was able to experience it. It also helped that Jennifer and Arthur were the most laid back and amazing couple ever.

The day started on the cruise ship with some getting ready photos of Jennifer, the first look, and a short portrait session in and around the ship. Shortly after, it was time to head into Grand Cayman for the wedding itself.
The ceremony took place on the beach which, as you would imagine, was absolutely beautiful. It was a short and intimate ceremony. It was just their closest friends and family that came with them on the cruise. Once the ceremony was done we headed back into the city and eventually made our way to the tour of the day, to see and swim with the stingrays.
It was my first time doing so, so I was very excited. I think everyone in the wedding party (and tour), had a great time as well. I’m so thankful I got the chance to meet, and of course photography, Jennifer and Arthur. :)
Cassandra + Dustin Wedding - Best Western Plus NorWester Hotel
Cassandra and Dustin made it official last week and I was lucky enough to be hired to capture their wedding day. Outdoor weddings in October are always a toss up with the weather, but everything worked out absolutely perfect! The location was the always beautiful Best Western Plus Norwester. With the backdrop of the fall colours, you couldn’t ask for a better setting for a wedding.

My day started with the boys getting ready and then the girls. As a photographer, it’s a fantastic time to get a lot of genuine candid moments, which I love doing. After a few of hours of that, the guests started arriving for the ceremony, which as I mentioned, took place outside. The weather was just warm enough too, to make it a very enjoyable outdoor setting.
As with most weddings, we then did all the family and wedding party photos after the ceremony, eventually leading into a quick session with just Cassandra and Dustin by the pond.
The real fun began with the reception where there were some great speeches, superb food and of course, some fun party games. Congratulations to Cassandra and Dustin, and thanks again for for choosing me to document your wedding day!
Melissa + Alex Wedding - Spirit Garden
As much as I love photographing full wedding days, every once in a while it’s nice to do a small and short wedding. Case in point, Melissa and Alex had their wedding last month at the Spirit Garden at the Marina here in Thunder Bay. They invited their closest friends and family, and it was a very sweet wedding.

Luckily summer was still hanging on, so it was a very warm day. Almost too warm … almost. Regardless, I had a blast capturing some memorable moments for Melissa and Alex. :)
Brittany + Patrick Wedding - Charkuu102
Earlier this summer I had the pleasure of capturing the wedding of Brittany and Patrick. They hired me for a full day, which meant I got to follow them to a few different locations, eventually ending at a local venue I have never photographed at before, Charkuu102.

The day started with Patrick and the boys getting ready. They were as calm as could be and very relaxed. My favourite part of my time with them was the fact that Patrick decided to pose with a moose head, which they had recently gotten. It was an epic photo and one of my favourites from the day.
Then it was off to to the girls getting ready. As with the boys, it was also a very chilled environment, which made for some really great natural candid moments.
Shortly after that, everyone hopped on the bus to go out to the country. Before the final destination of Charkuu102, Brittany and Patrick wanted to get some photos at a property they recently purchased. It was a great spot to do the ‘official’ first look and also a lot of the wedding party photos.
Charkuu102 was where the ceremony, and eventually, reception would be taking place. As I mentioned, it was to be my first them, and I was not disappointed. It definitely ranks up there with one of the most beautiful locations in town.
Once the ceremony was done, we got all the family group photos and then eventually some more wedding party photos too. The rest of the night went by super fast. It was filled with some very sincere and funny speeches, amazing food, lawn games and eventually some dancing to end the night for me. Before I left, we gathered everyone up and got an extremely epic group photo of everyone still there.
All in all, it was a day to remember, and one that I am so happy I got to catpure!
Andrea + Brendan Wedding - Naturally Superior Adventures
Even though most of my weddings are around the Thunder Bay area, every once in a while I’m asked to travel out of town, which I always look forward to. This time around, Andrea and Brendan asked if I would be interested in shooting their wedding at Naturally Superior Adventures, and I of course, said yes!

It’s about 10 minutes outside of Wawa, and it was my first time there. The location itself was very beautiful. Right on the shores of Lake Superior, the views are simply amazing. Combine that with the fact that there are some very unique cabins on the water, and it is truly a breathtaking place to getaway for an adventure.
I could immediately see why Andrea and Brendan chose this location. Plus I would learn later that they are quite the adventurous couple, which made all the more sense.
The wedding itself was a relatively small and intimate one, which I absolutely love. You could really see just how close everyone was, which made the day all that more fun.
It went by really fast for me, and was pretty much non stop, which I always prefer. I’m very happy with all the photos I captured, especially the candids. The highlight for me though, was pulling Andrea and Brendan out for a few minutes just after sunset, to get some beautiful photos with the moon.
I’m so thankful to have had the opportunity to meet and photograph such an amazing couple, and at the same time, hang out with them and their family and friends in such a unique location on the water.
