Erin + John Wedding - The Chanterelle

Erin and John said their vows on the very first day of this month and I was happy to be there to capture their wedding day. With only a couple more weddings this year before the season wraps up, I’m thankful for every single wedding I have had the pleasure of photographing.

Their day stared at their family church which was small but full of character. Even though I wasn’t allowed to actually photograph the ceremony, I still managed to get a lot of great candid photos before and especially after as everyone congratulated the bride and groom.

The weather held up, so the wedding party and parents made their way to Trowbridge Falls which is definitely one of most beautiful spots in town for photos, especially in the fall. We started by the bridge and eventually headed down to to the rocks by the rapids. I obviously captured a lot of formal portraits of the all the combinations, but I still made sure to mix in some candid moments here and there.

The reception took place at The Chanterelle. I’ve lost track how many weddings I’ve shot there this year, but that venue never gets old. I love capturing weddings there. As always the food was great, the speeches were emotional (and funny), and it was just a very fun and loose evening.

Thank you to John and Erin for trusting me to photography their wedding day. I had a great time doing so.

Anna + John Family Portraits - Marina

It was a quick and somewhat cold session with Anna, John and their two boys, but we managed to come away with some really good photos, despite the weather. Even Owen and Nolan were great and very patient. As with most sessions in the winter on cold days, I did my best to keep everyone moving, not staying in one spot too long, yet not rushing anything. It helped that Anna and her family were great models. It just goes to show you, that despite the winter weather, there is no excuse not get out there and get some photos done!

John + Marie Wedding

My first wedding of the 2013 season was at the Vahalla Inn. John & Marie wanted photos taken of their ceremony and the guests, along with some portraits afterwards. Once I arrived I quickly got my gear ready and started taking photos of guests mingling as I usually do. The ceremony took place at 3:00 and lasted for about 30 minutes. There were about 60 people there which made for a nice intimate wedding. After all was said and done, everyone congratulated John & Marie, then it was time for some portraits.

We took advantage of the hallway leading to the lobby. There was some nice natural light coming through the windows. Once we made our way to the lobby, we took all the photos of the family. The setting was perfect as it was right by a fireplace and the skylight above was shining some natural light on everyone as well.

After the group photos were done we made one final stop along the hallway and captured a few more photos of the happy couple. It was a quick wedding for me but I had a great time. Thanks again to John and Marie for choosing me as their photographer.
