Katarzyna + Sean Wedding - The Chanterelle
My wedding with Katarzyna and Sean was yet another memorable one. I know I can say that about every wedding, but perhaps I’m just lucky that I have the luck of capturing awesome couples My day started with Sean and his family getting ready. I always love weddings where I get to photograph the bride and groom getting ready. It gives me a chance to ease into the day and of course, meet the family.

Sean’s friends showed up one after the other so it was a very relaxed portion of the day. It gave me a chance to take my time with photos as well as get some of the details of the home. It also helped that it was a beautiful home. I left the boys once they had all their suits on and ties done up. I was then off to visit to the girls for a little bit. They were equally as calm, if not a little bit more rushed just because the ceremony was fast approaching.
Before I knew it, the limo had arrived, to whisk away Katarzyna and her wedding party. I arrived at The Chanterelle just before them, about 30 minutes before the ceremony was to start. It allowed me to capture the wedding party hanging out and all the guests arriving. I also always make sure I take photos of the space itself and all the little details. It’s hard not to come away with good photos at a location like The Chanterelle.
One of my favourite moments of the ceremony was Katarzyna and Seans dog walking down the aisle with one of the groomsmen. So cute. As always, the ceremony went by fast, and after a short amount of downtime to gather their thoughts, we were off in the limo to the Firehall. Since Sean is a fireman, he was hoping to get a photo in front of one of the trucks, but it just didn’t work out. We were still able to get a couple quick photos in front of the red doors.
Waverley Park was the next stop, and where we ended up doing all the wedding party photos. The rain started coming down just as we were finishing up, so the timing was perfect. After touring the area in the limo, we all headed back to the venue for the rest of the evening. As always, The Chanterelle served some amazing food and drinks, and all the speeches were so sincere and heartfelt. It made for a few nice emotional photos!
I know I have a few more weddings this year at The Chanterelle, and I hope they are all just as fun and beautiful as Katarzyna and Sean’s!
Makaila + Sean Engagement - Thunder Bay Tree Farm
I have been photographing Makaila and her family for the past 4 years, so when she asked me to capture her engagement session I simply couldn’t wait to do so. I’m so thankful to be a part of the next step in their life. Plus, I know it’s always a fun time. I was excited to see Lucas come along as well as their dog Bear, who is so handsome and friendly. So, even though it was an engagement session, it was kind of a family shoot as well which was nice.

We chose the Tree Farm for the location which is always a good choice. This time of year can sometimes result in wet conditions but it was actually really nice out there. All in all it was super fun session with a lot of great little moments. They were usually centred around Lucas who is always a character.
I’m very much looking forward to Lucas’s next birthday session and of course the Makaila and Sean’s wedding coming up in the not so distant future.
Sean + Carly Wedding
When I first met with Sean and Carly earlier in the year to discuss their wedding, one of their main concerns was what to do if it rains the day of the wedding. Well, low and behold, it did indeed rain. When I first arrived at the simply stunning location which was located on Carly’s family farm, everything was set up for the outdoor ceremony. The rain soon followed and the backup plan was to hold the ceremony in the outdoor tent they had set up. After a little bit of waiting, the rain eventually passed and it turned it a very hot and sunny day.

As I mentioned before the location was just wonderful. As everyone slowly arrived and braved the quick sun shower, there was plenty of space to mingle and wait for the ceremony to begin. They had a nice little outdoor bar setup on the side of one of the barns, and guests were also able to take shelter in the outdoor tent. Guests were soon told to make their way to the seating area. Half of them sat in the chairs and the rest stood, gathered in behind. With the sun beating down, the 3 piece band played music and Sean and the guys made their way to the aisle. Shortly after that, the girls and eventually Carly and her dad walked through the crowed of anxiously awaiting guests.
All in all the ceremony took about 40 minutes and it was quite nice. There were even some laughs as Sean stumbled a couple times on his words which is completely understandable given the circumstances…there were a lot of people watching his every move. After the ceremony was done the entire wedding party took a brief respite inside the house, then it was time for the family portraits.
It was all very casual and we just went with the flow. We did some group shots first, with a few photos of just Carly and Sean mixed in. We also took advantage of a lot of the different areas of the property including the long road leading in, some of the hold barns and of course, the great green backdrops. My favourite photos of the day were when the ladies were posing with the fur scarves around their next. The photos were just so natural and fun.
Soon after the portraits were done, the wedding party took a short break and mingled with the guests. Then the receiving line started which actually took about an hour or so. By the time it was done the food was all ready. As the chef and the servers prepared the table, the wedding party made their entrance into the tent and Sean and Carly immediately started into their first dance. After that, the speeches would follow from the best man and maid of honour and then it was time to eat.
All the food was fantastic but the highlight for me were the two roasted pigs. It was definitely a sight to see. After dinner, my night was over and I left shortly after. I’m sure the rest of the night was a blast for everyone there. Sean and Carly were such a great couple to photograph and I couldn’t have asked for a better wedding to be a part of!
