One of my favourite families to photograph has got to be Makaila. I feel like I have grown up with Lucas over the years, ever since capturing his first birthday. He is now 5 years old, and has so much personality. It’s so nice to see. Plus, we are at the point now where everyone just shows up and we do the session, because of the comfort level. It was an extremely relaxed and fun session, as always.

This was Courtney and her family’s second mini session in just under a month. The first one took place at the Tree Farm which was so good. This time around, we did Mission Island Marsh, which was different, but equally amazing. The session went by very quick, but it always amazes me how many good moments can be captured in just 30 minutes!

Ingrid and Vince had to postpone their wedding this summer due to the current situation, but that didn’t mean we still couldn’t do a portrait session. Which is exactly what we did, at Mission Marsh. As I was driving there, Ingrid told me she was setting up. I didn’t really know what to expect, but as you can see from the header image, it was amazing.

Victoria and Joseph came in all the way from Kakabeka to join me for a portrait session. The weather was perfect and so were they. I always ask couples and families if they have done sessions in the past, and in this case, Victoria said they really hadn’t done one before.

There isn’t much to say about my session with Heather, other than you can instantly tell who the star of the show was. Macy. Don’t get me wrong Heather and her whole family were great, but we pretty much followed around Macy the whole session, which I was completely fine with. I learned that she is the fastest little girl in the world. I even raced her a few times and she of course ran.

Every portrait session is different each time. You just can’t plan exactly how things go. Especially when young kids are involved. You really can’t expect to spend a whole session trying to get little kids to pose for photos. Instead, as I do with almost every session, I just go with the flow. I often let the kids dictate where we go with a little big of guidance on my end of course.

I’ve been putting on a lot of mini sessions over the past month and Rochelle and Tyler decided to take advantage of my Centennial Park one. Instead of just a portrait session, they were actually celebrating their wedding anniversary.

I still can’t believe Halloween is only a few weeks away. Brittney and her friends got an early start this year and asked if I could capture some photos of them in their costumes. I of course jumped at the chance. Plus, she’s my niece, so anything for family right?
Read MoreSarah Graduation Session
Sarah graduated earlier this year, but it’s never too late to do graduation photos. That’s exactly what we did yesterday, and the photos turned out amazing, especially with the Fall colours still hanging around. We started in downtown Port Arthur for some quick urban style photos, against the amazing artwork on Cooke Street.

My latest portrait session took place at Maudslay Court, which is location I have been wanting to photograph at for a very long time. I’m still amazed this was my first time inside. Glenda, who lives there, were joined by her two daughters for a beautiful mini session in the courtyard.

It’s always fun to photograph family. My niece Brittney wanted some new photos of her three kids, so I of course found some time to do so. Brittney hadn’t been to Trow Bridge since high school so it was the perfect spot. Plus, it allowed the kids to just run around and have fun. Let’s just say the majority of the photos were candids. All in all, it was a super fun session. Any chance I get to hangout with family is more than welcome.
Read MoreKanisha + Family Portraits - Centennial Park
My first session at Centennial Park was the perfect way to start the day. I had so much fun photographing Kanisha and her family. Eva was so cute, and she had so much personality. We ended up using the side trail at the park, which was a nice change of scenery. As you can see, Fall is definitely here. Hopefully it stays around a while, because it’s the perfect backdrop for these portrait sessions.
