Brooke + Min Family Session - Mission Island Marsh
It was a beautiful mini-session with Min, Brooke and the rest of their family at Mission Island Marsh. Even though it was a bit windy, that didn’t stop everyone, including me, from have a great time. I was able to capture some purely genuine moments.

Alisha + Kih Portraits - Trowbridge Falls
My recent mini-session with Alisha + Kih at Trowbridge Falls had about 3 different weather systems in the span of 30 minutes, but that made for an extremely fun and spontaneous session. It started with overcast skies, then quickly turned to large hail and eventually to clearing skies.

During that time, we managed to get a few keepers with smoke bombs, a titanic reenactment and some extremely fogged up glasses. All in all a very productively chaotic session.

My afternoon session today took me all the way out to Kakabeka to photograph Eden and her family on their property. It was great to once again be out there as it’s been over a year since the last time. She said there were a couple suprises for me when I arrived so I was curious as to what that could be. Well … it turns out they now have 13 week old twin boys and a second dog!

Well … it turns out they now have 13 week old twin boys and a second dog!
Those two things obviously made what was going to be a fun session, even better! It went by so fast but I came away with so many good moments.
Makaila + Family Portraits - Cascades
I’ve stopped counting how many sessions I have done with Makaila and Lucas over the years, which is a good thing. As each year passes, Lucas keeps growing and getting more and more of a personality. He ran the show once again this time, as we were back again at Cascades.

I let him direct some poses, he had ideas of his own and of course, we all had fun doing so. The weather was absolutely perfected the fall colours were in full effect.
FWFN Fall Powwow - Thunder Mountain Powwow Grounds
As part of Orange Shirt Day, FWFN hosted their annual Fall Powwow up on Thunder Mountain. It was a very special Powwow because September 30th is also now National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. It was such an amazing turnout and I was so thankful to be a part of it.

Kristin + Family Portraits
The weather cooperated perfectly for my portrait session with Kristin and her family. We used a beautiful open field as the setting for the session. It was absolutely perfect. Of course it helps when the kids are adorable. It made my job very easy.

Joelle + Family Portraits - Centennial Park
My fall mini sessions are now turning into winter sessions, but luckily the weather is still holding up, even if it is quite a bit colder. Joelle and her two children joined me for a session this past weekend and it was blast. Her son was pretty shy, but he warmed up to photos near then end!

Amy + Family Portraits - Cowan Park
I have photographed Amy and her family for quite some time now over the years, and it’s so nice seeing the kids grow up each time I seem them. The location we chose was a new one for me, Cowan Park. It was actually the perfect Fall spot, as the leaves were on the ground and there was still colour in the trees.

A lot of these portrait sessions I do simply feel like walks with families, and taking photos along the way. That make each and everyone feel very natural and real.
Teegan + Family Portraits - Centennial Park
It was my first time photographing Teegan and her family, and I really hope I get to do so again in the future. They were so easy going and fun to capture. It was such a relaxed atmosphere, and they were up for anything I suggested.

Kaylia + Emma Wedding - Kakabeka Falls
I am definitely seeing more and more small intimate weddings these days, and my latest one was with Kaylia and Emma at Kakabeka Falls. It was just them with a few of their family members. I was only there for the ceremony and some portraits afterwards, but it was more than enough time to capture a lot of great moments.

You really can’t ask for a better backdrop than the Falls. Luckily the weather held up and it was a nice overcast day. It was the perfect way to start the day, and I really do hope I keep getting the opportunity to shoot small weddings like this!

Late afternoon sessions at Trowbridge Falls always result in fantastic looking portraits. It helps when you have a beautiful mother and son to photograph in Stephanie and Haiden. There are so many great spots at the Falls and we took advantage of a few of them. They were both a little bit nervous on what to do while I took photos, but as always, I just told them to be themselves. It resulted in some natural and candid moments!
