Katrina + Lucas Engagement
My first engagement session of the season was quite a very fun one. Katrina and Lucas approached me to get some engagement photos done in time for the wedding next year. We decided on Centennial Park which as I have mentioned before, is always a great venue to photography a couple.
Cathy + Family Portraits
Normally when I do family portraits it's no more then a family of 5. In this case there were about 13 people! The occasion was for this session was an 80th birthday party for Cathy's dad Bernie.
The Benefits of Doing an Engagement Session
For almost all of my packages I offer an engagement session but rarely do couples take advantage of it. Most of the time it is lack of interest or even timing in most cases. There are also some cases where couples are simply coming in from out of town to do the wedding. In this post I am going to touch upon the importance of doing an engagement session with your photographer.

What to do with your wedding photos
Part of the problem with today's digital age is that we often take photos on our devices and they just stay there. There is something to be said for having physical and tangible printouts of your photos. A certain timeless feel if you will.
From Enthusiast to Wedding Photographer - Lessons Learned Along the Way
There comes a time in your career when you get so comfortable that you forget how you got to where you are now. I am still amazed that I am a wedding photographer. If you would have asked me 6 years ago if I would be doing this I don’t even think I would have given it a second thought. In fact, I always remember looking at wedding photographers as being crazy.

Getting the best possible photos on your wedding day
Photography is an integral part of pretty much every wedding. After all, what couple wouldn’t want to document at least part of their special day. Some couples are fine having a relative or friend of the family snap photos while others hire a professional to get the job done right.

Favourite Portraits of 2013
As promised in my last post, here are 'some' of my favourite portraits from 2013. I had a ton of sessions so it was hard to choose from but I narrowed it down these select few. If you would like to check out many more images by looking through the rest of my blog. Thanks again to all the wonderful families and couples.
Favourite Wedding Photos of 2013
With the new year now upon us, I figured it was a perfect time to highlight some of my favourite images from this past 2013 wedding season. It may come across like I am patting myself on the back but I think with anything, it's important to reflect. It allows us to not only see where we excelled but also where we can improve.
Jen + Baby Felix Newborn Portraits
When one of my good friends Jen asked me to photograph her and her 3 week old son Felix, I jumped at the chance. Newborn photography is something I want to start specializing in. So what better way to get started then by capturing photos of little Felix.
Amy & Family Portraits
This marked the second year in a row that I had the pleasure to photograph Amy and her wonderful family. Originally we planned on doing the session at 11:00 in the morning but after seeing the weather forecast calling for -40 degree weather, we pushed it back to the afternoon. Luckily we did because once 3:00 pm came around it was still quite cold. This made for a challenging but very fun photo shoot!
Brian & Leesa Wedding
My last wedding of the year took place at the Victoria Inn. The happy couple this time around were Leesa and Brian. This being my actual first wedding at the Victoria in, I was anxious to see what it was like. Last year I had the wedding show in the large ballroom so I had some idea of what it would be like but it’s always great to see how everything is decorated. I arrived about 15 minutes before the reception which took place in the room beside the main ballroom. By the time the wedding started it was a packed room I would estimate about 150 people or so.
Ryan + Chelsea Wedding
This was probably one of the most last minute weddings I have ever done. Ryan had contacted me about a week prior to their wedding, we met a few days later and then the wedding was here. Just like that. Right up until the Saturday the actual location wasn’t even confirmed. They had it narrowed down to two locations, and depending on the unpredictable weather, they would choose accordingly.
Katrina + Family Portraits
It was time for yet another family fall portrait session. After quite a bit of back and forth Katrina and I were finally able to nail down a date! Centennial Park was once again the destination. I have shot here on many occasions and I am often asked if it gets boring to always photograph at the same location. My answer is always no.
Stacy + Adam Wedding
When Stacy and Adam’s photographer decided to not shoot their wedding they asked me to do it as a favour. Well, since we were going to the wedding anyways, I jumped at the chance to also be the photographer. The other reason I was extremely excited was because I had never been to Lutsen Resort and I had heard that it is supposed to be beautiful.
