Carly + Neil Wedding - Marathon, Ontario

Anytime I get to travel out of town for a wedding, it almost feels like a mini vacation. Carly and Neil’s wedding in Marathon last month was a perfect example. My wife Anne came with me and we both made the almost 4 hour drive to Marathon the day before the wedding.

Anytime I get to travel out of town for a wedding, it almost feels like a mini vacation. Carly and Neil’s wedding in Marathon last month was a perfect example. My wife Anne came with me and we both made the almost 4 hour drive to Marathon the day before the wedding.

Even though we didn’t really do all that much, other than eat and relax, it felt nice to get away for a weekend. The day of the wedding started with some getting ready photos with the Carly, Neil and their family. It was very laid back, which made for some nice genuine moments.

The weather wasn’t the greatest all day, but that didn’t stop us from going to the boat launch where Carly and Neil said their vows in private. I think it took all of 10 minutes, but they ended up being some of my favourite photos of the day.

From there, we stopped by the local hockey arena and did some photos in front of the giant mural on the wall. They both looked so nice against the colourful backdrop.

Once we were done there, we made our way to shooting range, where the ceremony and reception was taking place. It was a beautiful property right on the lake. Even though the rain was coming down off and on most of the night, everyone still had a great time catching up with friends and family. The official ceremony took place inside the cabin with all 80+ guests.

The rest of the night was just as laid back as the rest of the day. I couldn’t have asked for a better out of town wedding to be a part of. :)

TBMFA – Jr. Giants Flag Football Session

I absolutely love doing sports photography, which meant that my recent session with the TBMFA - Jr. Giants Flag Football Team got me really excited. It was a practice, which allowed us to some player and team portraits first.

It was a practice, which allowed us to some player and team portraits first. The rest of the session was spent getting some fun action shots and candids of the girls running some drills. It was super fun outing!

Sarah + Family Portraits - Centennial Park

It was the perfect morning to take photos of Sarah and her wonderful family. As soon as I saw their two boys, I knew we had to end at the playground at Centennial Park. It was a great time, and I had a blast getting some genuine moments.

2024 BNA Community Powwow - Grandview Road

One of my absolute favourite events of the year is the Bingwi Neyaashi Anishinaabek Powwow on Grandview Road. It’s an all day event with vendors, amazing dancers and it’s just an all around good time.

One of my absolute favourite events of the year is the Bingwi Neyaashi Anishinaabek Powwow on Grandview Road. It’s an all day event with vendors, amazing dancers and it’s just an all around good time. This year was no exception either. The weather held up right up until the end, only raining for about 15 minutes. I actually found it refreshing. I’m already looking forward to the next one!

Thunder City Speedway Racing

It was opening night at the Thunder City Speedway Racing, so my wife Anne, our friend Stan and I decided to check it out. I had worked on some shoots there on the past, but this was there first time there.

It was opening night at the Thunder City Speedway Racing, so my wife Anne, our friend Stan and I decided to check it out. I had worked on some shoots there on the past, but this was there first time there. Even though I was a spectator this time around, I still brought my camera to take some photos. All in all, it was a very fun evening, and everyone had a great time!

Mary Creations Birch Bark

I had the pleasure of meeting yet another amazing local artist this afternoon at my studio, Mary Creations. She specializes in birch bark and she does amazing work. Check out some of her pieces below. She’s off to the Indigenous Fashion Arts Festival in Toronto this week, to showcase and sell some of her work!

EMDR Wellness Centre Interior + Staff Photos

One of my recent shoots was a slightly different than what I normally do. This time around I had the task of photographing new building of the EMDR Wellness Centre. It’s such a beautiful and functional space, and it was a lot of fun capturing it. I also got some quick photos of the staff while I was there too.

From their website, EMDR Wellness Centre is a structured therapy that encourages the patient to focus briefly on the trauma memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements), which is associated with a reduction in the vividness and emotion associated with the trauma memories.

It was also having an open house to celebrate their new location! There was a great article done by TBNewswatch which you can find here.

EcoSuperior Spring Up To Clean Up

It was that time of year again for the Spring Up To Clean Up event hosted by EcoSuperior. It’s where volunteers in the community come out to help clean up some of the garbage in the area.

It was that time of year again for the Spring Up To Clean Up event hosted by EcoSuperior. It’s where volunteers in the community come out to help clean up some of the garbage in the area. The location of choice for this meeting was the Bay and Algoma area. It was really a great turn out and in the end, there was a lot of garbage picked up by everyone involved!
