Last month I had the honour of working with the extremely talented artist Ocean Kiana to create a video and photo campaign for her collaboration with the Manitobah F25 Artist Series, which is available now in limited quantities.

We did all the filming and photography in her hometown of Ojibways of the Pic River First Nation. It was an amazing experience and one that I will never forget. I really appreciate Ocean letting me spend a day with her and her family, as well as Manitobah for giving me a once in a lifetime opportunity.
EMDR Wellness Centre Interior + Staff Photos
One of my recent shoots was a slightly different than what I normally do. This time around I had the task of photographing new building of the EMDR Wellness Centre. It’s such a beautiful and functional space, and it was a lot of fun capturing it. I also got some quick photos of the staff while I was there too.

From their website, EMDR Wellness Centre is a structured therapy that encourages the patient to focus briefly on the trauma memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements), which is associated with a reduction in the vividness and emotion associated with the trauma memories.

Sleeping Giant Brewing Company - Pop Up Store Intercity Mall
I had the pleasure of visiting the new Sleeping Giant Pop Up Store in Intercity Mall to capture some photos and video. I originally took photos and video a few years back when they were in a different location, but this is by far the best spot they have had in the mall. It looks 5 times bigger than the last one!

I recently had the opportunity to capture some photography as well as video for Rochelle Lee of Pivot Consulting and Coaching. She needed some updated photography for her website and social media. Elegance Medical - Headshots + Interior Photos
Even though the bulk of my photography centres around portrait and wedding photography, I still do enjoy corporate photography as well. When Elegance Medical asked me to do some headshots of their staff and interior/product photos, I immediately said yes.

For those of you not familiar with Elegance Medical, they offer several services including laser hair removal, skin resurfacing, vein treatments, Botox, fillers and Dermalogica skin care products. Their staff were a pleasure to photograph, and beautiful space is extremely inviting. If you are interested in the services they offer, don’t hesitate to contact them.
My 15 Favourite Photos of 2014
Since it was such a great 2014 for me, I figured the best way to bring in the new year would be to select my favourite photos of this past year. I had such a wide range of clients that it was really hard to pick. There were some great events I was able to photograph, a whole bunch of portrait sessions and of course some truly wonderful weddings.

Looking back it always amazes me just how many wonderful people I met just this past year alone. I simply can't wait for 2015! Be sure to check back often for blog posts and new sessions I have. Festival of India 2011
Just this past Tuesday, the annual Festival of India took place down at the Thunder Bay Marina. It was another great turnout with lots of great food and performances. It seems like each year it keeps getting better and better. I was only able to go for a short while but during that time I was able to capture some great photos of some of the dancers that took to the stage.

Howlapalooza - Butchers Ball 3
Howlapalooza – Butchers Ball 3, is by far some of the most fun I’ve had taking photos this year. As with previous years, it was held at the Prosvita. One of the local legions in Thunder Bay, Ontario. I arrived at the event an hour prior to set up all my gear. With the backdrop already in place I set up my area around it. It included all my own lighting, a photo printer, laptop and an extra monitor so all participants and passer-byers could see the photos right then and there.

The process was simple. Get your photo taken, check it out on screen instantly, and if you like it you could purchase a print in a variety of sizes right there. The whole system worked wonderfully with only a few delays here and there when it got busy. Otherwise, it seemed like everyone who participated was having a blast. Even if people didn’t intend on purchasing a print, they were encouraged to get a couple photos taken regardless.
Overall the night was a huge success for Jerry of Big Bang Productions. From what I saw, there were a TON of people, all dressed up. Be sure to check out his website for upcoming costume parties. They are always a guaranteed fun time.
Joyce Seppala Fashion Show
This past Thursday Ruby Moon hosted a fashion show by Joyce Seppala. It was a full house and by the time the show started there wasn’t an empty seat in the house. While enjoying the fantastic food and drinks everyone watched as a variety of models showcased the unique and creative designs by local Thunder Bay designer.

While enjoying the fantastic food and drinks everyone watched as a variety of models showcased the unique and creative designs by local Thunder Bay designer.
The music for the night was done by LU Radio DJ ‘Miss Temperance’ who did a fabulous job at keeping people’s feet tapping while the models did their thing. It set the mood perfectly.
Ruby Moon is definitely one of the premiere spots in town to see local artists and designers. Be sure to visit their website or drop by the restaurant to see upcoming show listings and what’s new on the menu.
