Bingwi Neyaashi Anishinaabek - Community Powwow - Current River Community Centre
This past weekend the Bingwi Neyaashi Anishinaabek hosted a community Powwow at the Current River Community Centre, in honour of Residential School Survivors. It was such a great turnout and I managed to capture a lot of great photos!

34th Annual Indigenous Cultural Traditions Club Powwow - Lakehead University
One of my favourite Powwow’s of the year took place once again this past weekend at Lakehead University. It was the the 34th Annual Indigenous Cultural Traditions Powwow. It was a 3 day event and I was able to make it out on the Saturday to capture some photos and video. As always, it was an amazing time!

ONWA She is Wise Conference 2024 - Niagara Falls
One of my favourite events of the year is without a doubt, the ONWA She is Wise Conference. Usually it’s Toronto, but this time around they decided to have it in Niagara Falls. It ended up being the perfect location, for such a wonderful event.

For anyone looking to learn more about this event, I highly encourage you to head on over to the ONWA website. In a nutshell, this year’s theme was honouring the roles Grandmothers, Mothers, Aunties, and Daughters play in preserving and protecting Mother Earth. A variety of speakers, performers and workshops, made for a very memorable 3 day event.

The Thunder Bay Art Gallery put on an amazing 3 day program here in Thunder Bay, centred around beading and a host of other disciplines. Attendees from across Canada came to learn from experts in each field. I was asked to cover a couple hours a day, which I was very thankful for.

Even though I was focusing on taking photos, it was still interesting to hear the teachings and see all the unique work being done by the students.
Current River Comets 15A - Port Arthur Arena
The Current River Comets 15A was my second of two comets sessions in the same day. This one was a full session which included the locker room portraits too. As usual, it was very fun, especially the action shots on the ice!

Even though the U11A Current River Comets had an outdoor session a few weeks, they decided to have me out to another indoor practice, to get some more shots, and more specifically, I proper team photos.

Precious + AJ Family Session - Centennial Park
I decided to take advantage of this warmer winter weather with a mini session out at Centennial Park. AJ + Precious joined me for a mini session with their newest addition to the family. I hadn’t photographed them since their wedding over a year ago, so it was great to see them again, along with AJ’s parents!

U11 Fury Outdoor Hockey Session
My second outdoor session was with the U11 Fury who were just coming off a championship weekend so they were flying high. I don’t think they even realized it was minus 30 degrees celsius. Even though it was cold, it was still a very fun session.

Westfort Rangers U13A Hockey Session
It feels great to be once again doing hockey sessions with the kids. One of my latest outings was with the Westfort Rangers at Delaney Arena. The kids had a blast getting their locker room portraits and of course, were doing their best to put on a show during practice.

Current River Comets - Outdoor Hockey Session
Winter is now officially here along with the extreme cold weather. That didn’t stop the Current River Comets from having an outdoor hockey session. It was my first of the new year and it was so much fun. Sure, I almost lost all of my fingers to frostbite but it was worth it!
