Helen Pelletier once again visited my studio with another simply amazing piece of artwork. This time around it was her winter birch bark sgrafitto etched floral heart design skirt. The amount of work and skill that goes into making something as beautiful as this, is impossible to comprehend. I’m just thankful that she allows me to capture photos of her work.

It just so happens to be around Katherine Cove, which is exactly where we did their session, along with Awaga Rock. Anyone familiar with Thunder Bay, knows that it’s about a 6 hour drive.

With summer comes Powwow season, and I was lucky enough to be invited out to Bingwi Neyaashi Anishinaabek Community Powwow the other weekend. There were lots of vendors and so many great dancers that participated in the Powwow. Of course, the crowd attending was just as big which was great to say.

This past Saturday the Polar Bear Plunge took place on Lake Superior in Thunder Bay. It’s an annual event that always brings out a lot of people and raises a lot of money for charity.
