Home sessions are definitely my favourite types of shoots. They are so intimate and real and the photos always end being authentic and meaningful. Combine that with a newborn and you have the ultimate experience. Spending 30 minutes with Desirae, Ryan and August was so special and I enjoyed it immensely. Melanie + Esker Newborn Session
Esker and Melanie recently welcomed their new daughter, Maeve, into the family. They weren’t planning on getting newborn photos done, but as soon as she arrived, they knew they had to. I get to do their wedding this coming September so I was super happy that I got to have a portrait session with them before then. Plus, I also got to meet Maeve, who might go down as the calmest baby I have ever met.

Amy + Family Newborn Session
I have lost count how any sessions it has been with Amy and her wonderful family, which is a good thing. I look forward to so many more future session, because each one outdoes the last. Case in point, Amy and David welcome Ellie to the family around 6 weeks ago, so it was a no brainer to get some updated family portraits that include the newest addition to the family.

Lauren + Kyle Family Portraits
My mini sessions always go by so fast, but they are always packed with so much fun. Such was the case with Lauren and Kyle and their family. Not only did they bring their new baby but they also brought their dog as well. It was the first time photographing a dog in the studio so that was great to do as well.

Desiree + Jonah Newborn Portraits
My first of two studio sessions this past Sunday was with Desiree and Jonah and their baby twins. It was only a 30 minute session so we worked fast, but it was so much fun and we came away with so many great photos. I'm so excited to finally have a proper studio where there is a lot more space to work with. Desiree and Jonah had some great outfits for both babies so it was just a matter of making sure they stayed still for a few moments here and there.

Jamie + Cory + Sophia + Teagan
My latest photo session was a family affair with Anne's cousin, Jamie. She recently gave birth to her newest addition to the family, Teagan. Along with her slightly older sister, Sophia and of course the man of the family, Cory. Instead of your typical 'newborn' session where we spend an hour or two putting the baby in different positions with different backdrop and outfits, I wanted to treat it more like my wedding photography which leans towards a documentary style. Not to say we didn't pose the baby a few times, but the majority of the shoot was me simply sitting back and capturing normal moments with no direction. I wanted it to be like I wasn't really there, just an observer, with a camera of course.

Ashima + Family Portraits
This past fall I had the pleasure to photograph Ashima and her family at the Tree Farm. It was a wonderful mini-session/maternity and I couldn't wait to do it again. Well, I didn't have to wait too long as they welcomed their newest addition to the family not too long ago, Isla.
