Amy + Family Portraits - Centennial Park
It was another beautiful fall day for a session with Amy and her family and Centennial Park. I have been photographing her family for quite a while. I just didn’t realize how long. Amy reminded me that it has been since 2012. I can’t stress enough how wonderful it is to essentially watch a family grow up through the years and document it. I’m so thankful!

U11 North End Flames - Current River Arena
I’m very excited for the upcoming hockey season and capturing all the kids throughout the year. Here are some highlights from one of my first sessions of the year with the U11 North End Flames, at Current River Arena.
Brooke + Min Family Session - Mission Island Marsh
It was a beautiful mini-session with Min, Brooke and the rest of their family at Mission Island Marsh. Even though it was a bit windy, that didn’t stop everyone, including me, from have a great time. I was able to capture some purely genuine moments.
Amy + Brad Family Portraits - Tree Farm
Anytime I get to photograph Amy, Brad and the rest of their family I get super excited. Well, this time around, they have a new puppy, Roxy. If I had my way, I would have just spent the whole time getting photos of her, but I promised to photograph the humans too. :)

As usual, it was great time with the family and I love how the photos turned out! I can’t believe how big the boys are getting too!
Barbara + Darren Wedding Celebration - Springfield Farm
It was just this past summer that I photographed Darren and Barbara’s very small wedding just outside Wawa at Chippewa Falls. It was literally just them and their children, plus of course the minister, all on the rocks with the rapids flowing in the background. It was a very fun day, and one that I look back on fondly.

Since it was just them for their wedding day, they wanted to have a more formal family gathering near their hometown of Ottawa. They liked the way I captured their wedding so much that they invited me out to Ottawa to capture their day.
It ended up being at a very beautiful location on the outskirts of Ottawa called Springfield Farm. Even though it was a rainy day, that didn’t matter at all. They had all their closest family and friends there, and that is all that mattered. From the custom Star Wars cake, along with two other ones, to the beautifully decorated venue, it was a night to remember.
The highlight of the night by far, was the 80’s hair band they hired to play the barn there. Supposedly they saw them live in Ottawa and decided to ask them to play their wedding celebration. It was truly epic and an insanely fun evening of music that I grew up with. The entire crowd enjoyed, from the older crowd all the way down to the kids.
I’m so glad Barbara and Darren invited me out to Ottawa to capture such a memorable evening!
Hardy Family Portraits
Family events are definitely some of my favourite types of sessions to capture. It usually means there will be a fair amount of kids running around and playing, making for some truly candid moments. That’s exactly what happened with Meladina and her family this past weekend.

I had a great time wandering around looking for those fun and genuine intereactions. It also helped that there was a bouncy castle there!
Eric + Caitlynn Wedding - Stepstone Centre
Anytime I get to photograph a wedding at Stepstone Centre, I can’t help but get excited. It’s such an amazingly beautiful location. Pair that with an equally beautiful couple in Eric and Caitlynn, and the result is stunning photos.

As with most weddings there, it was a little more of intimate affair with their closest family and friends. My day began with the girls getting ready in one of the log cabins. It provided plenty of opportunities for lots of candid photos. Before the first look with Caitlynn’s dad was to take place I did head out to the location where Eric and his family were getting ready.
After putting on the gorgoues handmade jewellery that Caitlynn made, we headed outside for some family photos. It was then time to head back to Stepstone for the first look and of course the ceremony. The ceremony took place in the usual spot, outside under the huge trees in the forest. It’s probably one of my favourite backdrops for a wedding in Thunder Bay.
Once the ceremony was done, we did our best to beat the rain (which we pretty much succeeded in doing) of all the family and friends. I then got to spend a little bit of time with just Caitlynn and Eric. This was one of my favourite parts of the day, and I just love how the photos turned out.
Lastly, it was time for the reception. Some highlights were definitely the shoe game, the speeches, as well as the group photo I managed to capture of every single person at the wedding. Not an easy feat!
The day flew by for me, and I’m thankful I was chosen to document such an important day for both Caitlynn and Eric.
Celebrating the Acquisition of the Victoria Inn
I was on-hand this week to photograph a ribbon-cutting and gala dinner at the Victoria Inn to celebrate the culmination of a collaboration which they say is a step toward economic empowerment and community viability.

Jennifer + Carmine - The Chanterelle
Jennifer and Carmine got married right around when Covid hit in a very small and intimate ceremony. Fast forward to a couple days ago, and they had a full on proper ceremony with all their friends and family. It was a long time coming and so worth the wait.

My day started with Jennifer and the girls getting ready and then it was off to Boulevard Lake to capture all the wedding party and family photos. The weather was absolutely perfect and we came away with so many sweet photos.
The reception itself took place at The Chanterelle, which as I always say, is one of my favourite locations in the city. There was amazing food, heartfelt speeches and plenty of dancing. The highlight for me was one of the bridesmaids dressing up as a banana, and committing to it, for the entire dancing portion of the night.
I’m so glad I was able to spend another full day with Jennifer and Carmine. I hope they cherish these moments for years to come. I know I will!
National Truth and Reconciliation Flag Raising - Lakehead University
Here are some highlights from the National Truth and Reconciliation Flag Raising that took place at Lakehead University. It’s one of many events being held this month at the Thunder Bay campus.

Kihannah + Alisha Engagement – Tree Farm
One of my favourite types of photo sessions, definitely has to be engagements. There is just a certain feeling of excitement in the air each time, similar to weddings. Kihannah and Alisha chose to do theirs at the Tree Farm. Unlike a family session I had a couple months earlier, this time around the mosquitos were nowhere to be found.

Overall it was a pretty relaxed session up until the last 5 minutes or so. Alisha decided to surprise Kihannah with a couple bottles of champagne. Suffice it to say, the last few photos were quite chaotic, which resulted in some truly memorable moments and reactions!
