Olivia + Jacob Celebration of Commitment + Wedding
It was very last minute, but I got asked to second shoot a very special day with Olivia and Jacob. Their celebration of commitment/wedding was such an emotional and heartwarming day, that I am very thankful to have been a part of.

I was only there for 2 hours but that was more than enough time to photograph some the ceremony, portraits and first dance. Seeing all the tears and smiles on everyone’s faces was so special. Hopefully these photos will help bring back some of those memories of the day.
Jennifer + Les Wedding - Delta Hotel Thunder Bay
The Delta Hotel was once again the latest location for a recent wedding I captured. Jennifer and Les were the beautiful bride and groom this time around, and it ended up being a very memorable and fun day. My day started about an hour before the ceremony which gave me some time to capture the details of the ballroom and some of the arriving guests.

Before I knew it, everyone was sitting down and anxiously awaiting the Jennifer and Les to make their way down the aisle. It was a very sweet ceremony, and capturing some of the reactions of the crowd, you could tell everyone in attendance were very happy for the couple.
Shortly after the ceremony finished up the wedding party, and a few of the closest family members headed down to the nearby Marina. Before returning back to the reception, Jennifer and Les spent a short amount of time with me getting some photos of just them amongst the gorgeous backdrop.
The rest of the night went by very fast for me. The food was amazing, the speeches were great and of course, the dancing, once it began, resulted in many spontaneous photos. I couldn’t have asked for better couple to photograph!
Kahla + Kyle Wedding - Centennial Conservatory
With things pretty much back to normal for weddings, it was refreshing to photograph a very small and intimate wedding with Kayla and Kyle at the Centennial Conservatory. I do like large weddings, but it’s nice to switch it up once in a while.

After a short and very sweet ceremony inside the conservatory, we made our way outside for some family and wedding party portraits. The outside is just as beautiful as the inside, so it was really easy to get beautiful photos.
Once we are done there, we spent a little bit of time at their parents house, getting a few candid and posed photos. I also got to pet their parents’ black cat, Lennon, who was very friendly.
Hannah + Chris Family Session
My first time meeting Hannah and Chris was during their maternity session last year. Fast forward to this year, and it was time for a family get together to celebrate their wedding. It was awesome seeing their newest addition to the family as well as the rest of their family, this time around. I had a great time capturing a mix of posed and mostly candid photos.

Alanah + Brenden Wedding - Fort William Historical Park
What can I say about Alanah and Brenden’s Wedding day? Only that it was so much fun and I can’t believe how fast the whole day flew by. I started with Alanah and the girls getting ready at their mom’s house. I was able to get a few details before they showed up and then a lot candid moments.

It was then off to photograph Brenden and the boys, which was just as fun. They were all in the process of getting their suits on and enjoying the last bit of time before the bus showed up. Their was the usual amount of nervous energy but everyone was also very calm and relaxed. It made for some unique photos.
Next up was the ceremony, which took place at Redwood Park Church. It was actually my first time doing a ceremony there and it was a very pleasant experience. The highlight for me was after the ceremony, when Alanah and Brenden gathered all the kids for a group shot. It was by far the most children I have ever managed to capture in one photo. Quite the feat!
We then headed back their parent’s house for a few photos of the wedding party. Two of my favourite photos were Alanah and Brenden getting on the very real zip line running through the backyard. The other photo was all of the wedding party sticking out their heads on the big yellow school bus.
The final stage of the wedding day was the reception which took place, once again at Fort William Historical Park. We had a bit of time so we headed down the trail for some more wedding party photos. It was quite hot out but I tried my best to get most of the photos done in the shade. Brenden suggested a photo of the groomsmen throwing him in the air which led to an epic photo. To my surprise, Alanah, also volunteered to get the same shot. Let’s just say she got even higher than Brenden.
The rest of the night was the reception which included an ice cream machine, a dice game for getting the bride and groom to kiss, the shoe game and a very lively dance for once it was time to open it up.
Thank you to Alanah and Brenden for trusting me to document their wedding day. :)
AJ + Precious Wedding - The Chanterelle
Having just done AJ + Precious’ engagement photos a month earlier, it felt like their wedding came so quick. From what I heard too, it was organized somewhat last minute too, which you wouldn’t have even been able to tell. It was just the perfect wedding, and I’m so thankful I was a part of it.

I started my day with the boys at the house, for some casual getting ready photos. I could tell immediately that they were a relaxed and fun bunch of guys, which makes my job that much easier. After about 30 minutes I headed over to The Chanterelle for the wedding reception. A few of the girls were a little bit behind schedule at the hair salon, but it all worked out in the end.
Photographing the ceremony itself was actually a little more challenging than usual. I have never seen, in all my years, that many people with cell phones taking photos. I adapt to any situation, and move to get the perfect shot, so no harm done. If anything it was really great to see so many people interacting and enjoying themselves. It made for a very unique atmosphere.
After the ceremony, and a very short break, we took the limo down to the marina where we spent a couple hours getting some family photos, wedding party photos and just a good mix of candid moments. The weather held out just long enough!
The rest of the night was back at The Chanterelle. As soon as it started everyone was having a good time. The DJ, was amazing, and played a couple awesome games, which led to some equally amazing photos. Before my night was done, I captured the first dances. It was definitely a memorable wedding, and I’m super happy with all the photos I was able to capture.
Sheila + Trevor Wedding - Fort William Historical Park
My first wedding of the year at Fort William Historical Park with Sheila and Trevor was a really sweet one. It was a small wedding, which is my favourite kind, seeing as how they are always so intimate. It just so happened that one of the biggest events of the year, Country on the Bay, was also taking place about 200 feet away. You wouldn’t have known it though, which is a good thing.

The ceremony took place in the back courtyard, with the trees and fountain providing a beautiful backdrop. One the ceremony was done, I made my way with the wedding part into the park grounds. We pretty much had the place to ourselves, which was amazing. The good thing about a huge concert taking place, is that no one had any inclination to visit the park. Good for us!
Suffice it to say, we came away with some very cool portraits. It’s impossible not to get unique photos in one of the prettiest, and historical sites in the city.
The reception took place back at the pavilion. It was a very low key affair. Everyone just enjoyed everyone else’s company, ate some great food and eventually danced the night away. Congratulations to Sheila and Trevor, and as always, thank you for trusting me to capture your wedding day!
Sara + Eric Wedding - Best Western Plus Nor'Wester Hotel
It was my second wedding of the summer at NorWester Hotel. Once again the weather held up, but it was definitely a hot day for a wedding. Sara and Eric actually got married in a small intimate ceremony the previous year, but they wanted to do it again, this time in front of family.

The ceremony was short and very sweet, with all of their closest friends and family watching on. Once the ceremony was over we immediately braved the hot weather, and wind, for the family and wedding party photos. As I mentioned before, it really is one of the nicest backdrops in the city there. We took full advantage of it too.
My day ended with covering the first part of the reception. It gave me a chance to get a lot more candid photos of people, which I absolutely love. Congratulations (again), to the happy couple, Sara and Eric.
Jen + Roy Wedding - The Chanterelle
Every once in a while, I get to photography a family wedding. This was one of those times, and it was such a good day. Jen and Roy’s wedding took place at The Chanterelle, which made for a very small intimate day.
The ceremony took place on location, and then afterwards we headed to the Law School up the street for some outdoor photos. After a small break, dinner and dancing was back at The Chanterelle. Congratulations to Jen and Roy!

Maria + Justin Wedding - Lakeshore Drive
My latest wedding was right on Lake Superior, and it was absolutely beautiful. It’s always amazing to see the amount of work that goes into these outdoor weddings, and I’m often left speechless. Maria and Justin, were such a beautiful couple to capture for the day, and it was also great seeing all of their close family and friends celebrate such a special day.

Katarzyna + Sean Wedding - The Chanterelle
My wedding with Katarzyna and Sean was yet another memorable one. I know I can say that about every wedding, but perhaps I’m just lucky that I have the luck of capturing awesome couples My day started with Sean and his family getting ready. I always love weddings where I get to photograph the bride and groom getting ready. It gives me a chance to ease into the day and of course, meet the family.

Sean’s friends showed up one after the other so it was a very relaxed portion of the day. It gave me a chance to take my time with photos as well as get some of the details of the home. It also helped that it was a beautiful home. I left the boys once they had all their suits on and ties done up. I was then off to visit to the girls for a little bit. They were equally as calm, if not a little bit more rushed just because the ceremony was fast approaching.
Before I knew it, the limo had arrived, to whisk away Katarzyna and her wedding party. I arrived at The Chanterelle just before them, about 30 minutes before the ceremony was to start. It allowed me to capture the wedding party hanging out and all the guests arriving. I also always make sure I take photos of the space itself and all the little details. It’s hard not to come away with good photos at a location like The Chanterelle.
One of my favourite moments of the ceremony was Katarzyna and Seans dog walking down the aisle with one of the groomsmen. So cute. As always, the ceremony went by fast, and after a short amount of downtime to gather their thoughts, we were off in the limo to the Firehall. Since Sean is a fireman, he was hoping to get a photo in front of one of the trucks, but it just didn’t work out. We were still able to get a couple quick photos in front of the red doors.
Waverley Park was the next stop, and where we ended up doing all the wedding party photos. The rain started coming down just as we were finishing up, so the timing was perfect. After touring the area in the limo, we all headed back to the venue for the rest of the evening. As always, The Chanterelle served some amazing food and drinks, and all the speeches were so sincere and heartfelt. It made for a few nice emotional photos!
I know I have a few more weddings this year at The Chanterelle, and I hope they are all just as fun and beautiful as Katarzyna and Sean’s!
Vanessa + Nick Wedding - Best Western Plus Nor'Wester Hotel
I was so happy that the weather held up for Vanessa and Nick’s outdoor wedding at the Best Western Plus Nor’Wester Hotel last month. It was a bit windy, but everything went according to plan. Well, aside from the bride and her bridesmaids running a little late. I don’t know of any wedding that has gone exactly to plan though!

With the backdrop of Mount McKay in the background the ceremony was as beautiful as always. Once it was done we made our way to the back field for all the family and wedding part portraits. Everyone also trekked to the water fountain for some additional photos, and an awesome group confetti photo.
After a little bit of a break it was time for the reception. As you would expect, there was good food, speeches and of course, dancing. All in all, the wedding was a blast to capture and I’m so happy with all the great moments I was able to catch. Congrats to the newlyweds. :)
