Hammarskjold Convocation 2023 - Community Auditorium

One of my favourite types of events to capture is definitely graduation ceremonies. It’s just so rewarding seeing all the smiling and proud faces of students, teachers and, of course, family.

One of my favourite types of events to capture is definitely graduation ceremonies. It’s just so rewarding seeing all the smiling and proud faces of students, teachers and, of course, family. I had the pleasure of capturing the Hammarskjold Convocation at the Community Auditorium earlier this week. Along with photos of all the graduates accepting their rewards on stage, I also made sure to get a lot of candids of the evening, which you can see highlights of below.

2023 Bingwi Neyaashi Anishinaabek Community Powwow

With summer comes Powwow season, and I was lucky enough to be invited out to Bingwi Neyaashi Anishinaabek Community Powwow the other weekend. There were lots of vendors and so many great dancers that participated in the Powwow. Of course, the crowd attending was just as big which was great to say.

Moose Hide Campaign hosted by ONWA

The Moose Hide Campaign began as a BC-born Indigenous-led grassroots movement to engage men and boys in ending violence towards women and children. It has since grown into a nationwide movement of Indigenous and non-Indigenous Canadians from local communities, First Nations, governments, schools, colleges/universities, police forces and many other organizations – all committed to taking action to end this violence.

I was honoured to cover the first official walk to take place in Thunder Bay. It started at Intercity Mall and ended at City Hall, where a few speakers had some words to say.
