Westfort U7 + U9 Hockey Session - Tournament Centre

This past weekend I had my busiest hockey session to date. It was 8 teams total in the U7 and U9 age bracket. We did player portraits for every kid, on the ice, then a whole bunch of action photos in between. In the end it was a 4 hour session and it was so much fun!

Wendy + Family Portraits - Westfort

Westfort, by the train yard, was the destination for one of my afternoon sessions yesterday. With the backdrop of the trains and grain elevators, it was so perfect. Wendy wanted to get photos of her family, since they were actually all together. She didn’t know when that would happen again, so we took advantage of the situation.

Jordan Graduation Session

It feels really good to be starting up photo sessions again. I know things aren’t completely back to normal, but at least it’s something! One of my first official shoots back was my recent one with Jordan and her family for some graduation photos. I also shouldn’t forget Trixie, who was often the star of the show most of the time.

We started at the Westfort Overpass which is one of my all-time favourite spots for pretty much anything. After that, we headed over to Kam River Park which is another great little spot. There is the Via Rail Train as well as the bridge with the tunnel. Not only did we get shots of Jordan, but we make sure to also grab some nice family photos of everyone too.

The last stop on the shoot was downtown Port Arthur, just off of St. Paul Street. There is the beautiful graffiti along the side street there which perfectly complimented her graduation gown. The 2 hours we spent taking photos flew by so fast. I also managed to do a little bit of video as well, which you can find below.

Pat + Anne Engagement - With a twist

This was a very unique engagement session, mainly because I didn't photograph it! What do you do when you are a photographer and you have no choice but to be in front of the camera? Well, you get your son to photograph it for you!

This was a very unique engagement session, mainly because I didn't photograph it! What do you do when you are a photographer and you have no choice but to be in front of the camera? Well, you get your son to photograph it for you!

I considered bringing the old tripod out and setting up the timer but I knew Noah had a good understanding of how to use my cameras. I have let him take photos with my camera's before, giving him tips here and there, but now it was time to put those skills to the test. He delivered with flying colours. He also had his friend Preston with him for comedic relief and moral support.

It was very strange being in front of the camera for once. Luckily it's easy to be natural when you have a beautiful Fiancé like Anne beside you and a 13 year old taking your photos. We started the day at Chippewa Park and luckily we picked one of the warmest days of winter so far (although it was still kind of chilly). Once we were done there we made our way to a small little overpass in Westfort. I have always loved this location and I haven't had the chance to use it on one of my professional shoots.

Overall is was such a fun and spontaneous day. Noah did such a fantastic job. I did manage to take one photo and that was of Noah doing his best photographer pose. When it was all said and done though we really came away with some great photos. Of course, I wouldn't have looked half as good if it were not for Anne, who looked as beautiful as ever.

And of course. Thanks you to Preston for, well.. being Preston.
