Amy + Family Newborn Session
I have lost count how any sessions it has been with Amy and her wonderful family, which is a good thing. I look forward to so many more future session, because each one outdoes the last. Case in point, Amy and David welcome Ellie to the family around 6 weeks ago, so it was a no brainer to get some updated family portraits that include the newest addition to the family.

As soon as I got there we got started immediately. Of course, I focused on Ellie first, and if I'm being honest, for most of the session. That doesn't mean we didn't get the whole family though as you can see from the photos below. Amy and David have such a beautiful house it's hard not to come away with some great backdrops. The nursery was so cute too, with some nice details which I made sure to capture.
We finished the session outside which was the perfect end to a perfect session. I still can't believe how fast the hour went by. I could have photographer Ellie (and the rest of the family) or another hour or more!
As I have been also doing more of lately, there is a short video below that you can view showing a few moments from the session. Thanks for viewing!
Kim + Family Portrait Session
My recent session with Kim and her family got postponed a couple time due to this extreme weather. We really want to do some outdoor photos so each time we booked it, the weather just wasn't cooperating. Well, we finally decided to just do it and have fun in the process, otherwise we would be waiting until spring! Who knows how far away spring is too.

Luckily, Kim has a very beautiful home, so even though it was still very cold out we spent just a bit of time outdoors and the rest of the time inside. Kim and her family were such an easy going family to photograph. They even posed outside without their jackets. I worked quick though so they didn't freeze too much. For the remainder of the time I just captured some real life moments.
To be honest, I much prefer documentary style photography so I was so happy with how many candid photos I ended up getting. It helped that Kim and her family were completely natural in front of the camera. I could have easily spent a couple hours with them but it was Super Bowl Sunday after all.
I can't wait to hopefully photograph Kim and her family again, when it's warmer out!
The Key Cover - Lifestyle Portraits
One of my favourite genres of photography is definitely lifestyle. I think that comes from my love for wedding and portrait photography, which focuses on candid photography. When The Key approached me to cover a variety of events in Thunder Bay, for their upcoming issues I jumped at the chance.

One of those sessions was a woodworking and welding class at Confederation College. I was essentially required to capture students in their environment, candidly. All the students knew beforehand that I would be coming so everyone was very easy going. I was able to work my around both classes and come away with great photos.
