King Ghidrah Lounge – Food + Interior Photos
King Ghidrah, Thunder Bay’s newest lounge, asked me to capture some high end photos of all of their dishes and also some interior photos. I hadn’t had the chance to eat there yet but so it was the perfect excuse to not only photograph some amazing food, it was also great to taste test some of it. Long story short, everything tastes amazing as it looks. For those of you aren’t familiar with King Ghidrah, it specializes in Pan Asian cuisine and cocktails. They are open Thursday, Friday and Saturday 6pm-11pm. Go check it out!

Best Bite Shawarma - The Walleye
Every once in a while The Walleye asks me to go to a restaurant here in town and photograph one of their dishes for an upcoming issue. If I can do it, I always say yes. I love food, so it’s pretty much a no brainer for me. This time around the restaurant was Best Bite Shawarma. I’m not going to write a review of the food or anything like that. You are better off heading over to The Walleye’s website for that. But I will say that since photographing the dish, I have been back two more times. The food there is amazing and of course the service is just as good.

The Walleye - Breakfast Issue
Last month I was asked by The Walleye to photograph a few different breakfast dishes at various restaurants in Thunder Bay, for the upcoming breakfast issue, which is out now! I jumped at the chance, for a few reasons. The first being that I love photographing food, and second, it gave me a chance to try out some dishes I haven't had the chance to yet.

If you haven't noticed yet, there are a lot of great places to eat out in Thunder Bay, and I know some of them, people don't even know about. It's so great that The Walleye decided to focus on breakfast for their March issue, because as I mentioned above, there are a ton of different options in town.
The first restaurant I covered was Prime Gelato. Most, including me, assume they are all about Gelato, but it turns out they make crepes there as well. As you can see from the photos below, they are super good. There are a bunch of different types you can get there so I encourage anyone, who enjoys crepes, to check it out.
The second place I visited was Java Hut. The feature plate I photographed was the lumberjack breakfast. If you haven't had it there before, and you are really hungry, I can't think of a bigger, tastier breakfast in town.
The last restaurant was Naxos. Even though it's a essentially a greek restaurant, they serve amazing breakfasts with a lot of different choices that you can't really find at any other restaurants town.
All in all, it was so fun to get out and shoot at these different restaurants. Thanks as always to The Walleye for asking me to be a part of their March Issue. For those interested, the current issue is out, and you can also view it here.
