Alanah + Brenden Wedding - Fort William Historical Park

What can I say about Alanah and Brenden’s Wedding day? Only that it was so much fun and I can’t believe how fast the whole day flew by. I started with Alanah and the girls getting ready at their mom’s house. I was able to get a few details before they showed up and then a lot candid moments.

It was then off to photograph Brenden and the boys, which was just as fun. They were all in the process of getting their suits on and enjoying the last bit of time before the bus showed up. Their was the usual amount of nervous energy but everyone was also very calm and relaxed. It made for some unique photos.

Next up was the ceremony, which took place at Redwood Park Church. It was actually my first time doing a ceremony there and it was a very pleasant experience. The highlight for me was after the ceremony, when Alanah and Brenden gathered all the kids for a group shot. It was by far the most children I have ever managed to capture in one photo. Quite the feat!

We then headed back their parent’s house for a few photos of the wedding party. Two of my favourite photos were Alanah and Brenden getting on the very real zip line running through the backyard. The other photo was all of the wedding party sticking out their heads on the big yellow school bus.

The final stage of the wedding day was the reception which took place, once again at Fort William Historical Park. We had a bit of time so we headed down the trail for some more wedding party photos. It was quite hot out but I tried my best to get most of the photos done in the shade. Brenden suggested a photo of the groomsmen throwing him in the air which led to an epic photo. To my surprise, Alanah, also volunteered to get the same shot. Let’s just say she got even higher than Brenden.

The rest of the night was the reception which included an ice cream machine, a dice game for getting the bride and groom to kiss, the shoe game and a very lively dance for once it was time to open it up.

Thank you to Alanah and Brenden for trusting me to document their wedding day. :)

Alanah + Brenden + Gus Engagement Session - Centennial Park

I really do love engagement sessions. Not only are they fun, but they give me a good opportunity to actually meet the couple, and develop a relationship with them, before the wedding! This is actually a pretty rare occurrence these days.

I’m so thankful Alanah and Brenden decided to bring Gus along for their session too. I always tell couples and families that pets are always welcome. My only problem is not focusing too much on peoples pets!

If this session was any indication of how the wedding day is going to be, I simply can’t wait. Alanah and Brenden were so natural and spontaneous in front of the camera. Oh, and Centennial Park was in full Fall mode, which made for great colours.

Brenden + Anika Family Portraits - Centennial Park

My latest portrait session took place at Centennial Park with Brenden, Anika and their little girl, Delilah. It was a very relaxed session and I was amazed at how calm Delilah was in from of the camera. She was actually the perfect little model. As were Brended and Anika, who I hardly had to tell what to do.

We took advantage of some of the cabins as backdrops, beautiful red tractor and finally the barn area. Unfortunately there were no horses out, but that didn't stop us. We ended the session with a few photos in the trail by the entrance. I still can't believe how quickly the hour went by. Brenden mentioned getting some extended family portraits done in the near future so I can't wait for that!
