Loud + Proud Pride After Party - Black Pirates Pub
Thunder Pride 2019 wrapped up today with the parade, which I will be posting very soon. Before that, Black Pirates Pub played host to the Loud and Proud Pride After Party which had an amazing drag show. I made sure I got right up against the stage and braced myself for what was to come. The bar was packed and the crowd was so energized. All the performers did an amazing job, and being that close, you could really feel the energy. It was great to see so much support from everyone there.

The bar was packed and the crowd was so energized. All the performers did an amazing job, and being that close, you could really feel the energy. It was great to see so much support from everyone there.

Derelicte 10 - Black Pirates Pub
I was so excited once I realized I would be able to help photograph Derelicte 10. I had only attended once before, a couple years ago, and I had so much fun then. The thing I like most about Derelicte is that it's just so ... random. There are so many talented designers in this city and it's the one night of the year they get to showcase their amazing work. Not to mention, the musical talent a well, which is just as diverse.
I was so excited once I realized I would be able to help photograph Derelicte 10. I had only attended once before, a couple years ago, and I had so much fun then. The thing I like most about Derelicte is that it's just so ... random. There are so many talented designers in this city and it's the one night of the year they get to showcase their amazing work. Not to mention, the musical talent a well, which is just as diverse.
What makes Derelicte so amazing are the people. There is just so much energy in the crowd and you can just feel the unique vibe in the air. For part of the show I was able to set up shop at the end of the runway which ended up providing some of my favourite photos of the evening.
Just like last time, I photographed this event for The Walleye and I can't wait to possibly see some of these photos on their website. Of course, the show wouldn't even be possible without DefinitelySuperior ArtGallery which put the whole thing on. I wait with baited breath until next years show!

I'm a little late in posting this but I figured it's better late than never. Last weekend, I had the pleasure of photographing Derelicte 8 over at Black Pirates Pub. This was my first time attending the event, let along photographing it. As for most of the events I photograph in town, The Walleye asked if I could cover the event for them and of course I said yes. I ended up spending about 2 hours there and I was amazed at just how fun and diverse the event was.

This was my first time attending the event, let along photographing it. As for most of the events I photograph in town, The Walleye asked if I could cover the event for them and of course I said yes. I ended up spending about 2 hours there and I was amazed at just how fun and diverse the event was.

I still can't believe this was the 8th time this event was put on and it was only my first time attending it. Black Pirates Pub is always a great location to photograph at and there was no exception this time around. By the time the show started the bar was packed. Luckily I had showed up a bit early so I stood my ground right by the main stage the whole time. It was great perspective to have and it meant I was right in on the action as soon as the models and bands took to the stage.
I was amazed at just how unique all of the costumes were. You can tell by looking at the photos below that there was a ton of variety, and the crowd loved every minute of it. Next year, I will be sure to stick around a bit longer and check out the whole show. I heard there were a lot more costumes after I left, but I was glad I was still able to cover most of the show.
