It was wonderful session with Jake and Abi this evening at Trowbridge Falls. The weather was perfect and everyone had a great time, especially the kids. Of course they were promised ice cream if they behaved, so they had no choice.

Helen Pelletier once again visited my studio with another simply amazing piece of artwork. This time around it was her winter birch bark sgrafitto etched floral heart design skirt. The amount of work and skill that goes into making something as beautiful as this, is impossible to comprehend. I’m just thankful that she allows me to capture photos of her work.

She actually has an upcoming exhibit on display at the Thunder Bay Art Gallery called: Women in Wiigwas as part of the Wiigwas Manidoog Descendants.
Cinema 5 Skatepark
I stopped by the recently opened Cinema 5 Skatepark earlier this month to capture some photos of one the programs they run for the youth. It was great to see all the kids come out and learn how to skate. I can’t wait to get back there and get even more photos of different events.

U13A KC Kracken Hockey Session - FWFN Arena
I still can’t believe my first session at the beginning of winter in 2022 was at the Fort William First Nation Arena. Fast forward to the other night and I have had the chance to photography so many teams since then. It felt good to be back at where it all started.

The U13A KC Kracken were such a fun bunch of kids, and by far, one of the most organized teams I have photographed to this point. Below are some of my favourite photos from the session, along with a short little highlight video.

It was another great session back out Neebing Memorial Arena, this time wit the U13 KC Golden Knights. We did the usual locker room portraits and then some fun action shots out on the ice!

Desirae + Family Home Newborn Session
Home sessions are definitely my favourite types of shoots. They are so intimate and real and the photos always end being authentic and meaningful. Combine that with a newborn and you have the ultimate experience. Spending 30 minutes with Desirae, Ryan and August was so special and I enjoyed it immensely. Check out some of my favourite photos below, as well as a short little video.

Nathan + Family Portraits - Centennial Conservatory
For my recent family session were did a mix of indoors and outdoors. The location of choice was the Centennial Conservatory, which is one of the nicest indoor spots in town. After capturing some photos with the beautiful backdrop inside, we finished off with some nice winter shots in the snow outside.

U9 Westfort Maroons Hockey Session - Grandview Arena
My last hockey session of the year was with the amazing group of kids on the U9 Westfort Maroons. After capturing their portraits in the locker room we headed to the ice for the team photo and of course, some action shots during their practice. I got a lot of great moments!

Peterson Building Supplies Elks U11 Hockey Team
It was the second time in 3 days that I was out photographing hockey at the Neebing Arena. This time aound it was the U11 Elks Team. They were a fun bunch of kids and very easy to photography. So much personality!

Thunder Bay Beavers Hockey Session - Port Arthur Arena
My hockey session with the Thunder Bay Beavers a short while ago was the oldest team I have had the pleasure of photographing so far. It was a great time and I love how the on ice portraits turned out. It was a nice change from the locker room versions I usually do. With that being said, I love both styles. As usual, I captured a ton of candid photos as well as on ice action. It was a super fun session!

I had another fun hockey session, this time with the U13A Current River Comets at Grandview Arena. As usual, we go some amazing locker room portraits of each player. While waiting for the ice to be cleaned, I snapped a few locker room candids as well. This is definitely something I want to do more of if time permits. All in all it was a great session!
